Position Summary The Mine Maintenance Supervisor is a safety-focused leader responsible for overseeing a team of technicians and ensuring the efficient operation of mine equipment. This role requires strong technical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair equipment, as well as excellent communication and organizational abilities to manage work orders, parts, and projects. The Mine Maintenance Supervisor will foster a positive work environment, prioritize safety, and collaborate effectively with other departments to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Safety and Compliance: • Conduct daily safety meetings and workplace inspections to ensure a safe work environment. • Manage and maintain technician daily logs, incident/accident reports, and investigation documentation. • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies. Crew Management: • Complete timecards for crew in an accurate and timely manner. • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians. • Assign tasks and prioritize workload to ensure efficient completion of maintenance activities. • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to develop technician skills and knowledge. • Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Workload Management: • Effectively manage time and resources to meet deadlines and production targets. • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and impact on operations. • Plan and organize projects, including coordinating tooling, parts, and personnel. Work Order Management: • Create, review, and complete work orders accurately and efficiently. • Communicate effectively with planners to ensure proper scheduling and resource allocation. Parts Management: • Create, review, and manage parts lists for maintenance activities. • Communicate with vendors to source and procure necessary parts. • Research and identify suitable replacement parts and gather technical information. Equipment Repair: • Perform hands-on, in-the-field repairs and troubleshooting alongside the maintenance team as needed to support operational needs. • Research technical information and parts requirements for repairs. • Advise planners on necessary repairs and estimated downtime. • Manage equipment availability and reporting to optimize operational efficiency. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and effective equipment repair. Required Qualifications: • Experience managing a team in mobile or vehicle maintenance, preferably in a mine setting. • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills are essential for success in this role. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook. • The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in various welding techniques and demonstrate safe handling of related equipment. • A comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems, including hydraulics, electrical, filtration, fuel, A/C and refrigeration, is crucial, along with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on them. • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and failure analysis, utilizing electronic diagnostic tools and interpreting maintenance manuals and schematics. • Knowledge and skill in maintaining various pumps, compressors, boilers, and other plant equipment. • The ability to work rotating shifts is necessary, with the understanding that the shift schedule may change as needed. • Be willing and able to perform manual labor tasks as required. • Be proficient in the use of maintenance tracking software. • Be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). • Possess a valid driver's license. • Must be able to work extended hours, overtime, and be available for on-call status.
